what is this beautiful hen?

I saw a pic of a blue orp. here today on an old post. She looks a Lot like that, but the feathers on the leg?? Maybe a cochin/ orp. mix? I really want more like her, but need to first decide what she is.

Hmm... Possibly a cochin mix, because cochins have small single combs and hers is a pea comb. Cochins come in two sizes, standard (large fowl) and bantam (small fowl). Her color is considered blue. She might have brahma or wyandotte in her to explain the pea comb?

A cochin/orp cross would give you a single comb, but pretty close to what your hen is minus the pea comb.

so if I get cochin, orp, brahma or wyandotte I will get something simalir to this hen? I love her!

My guess is a blue cochin hen. I cant get a good look at her from the pics, but that is what she looks like to me. Cochins have great temperment!

She is a blue Adaluasian. I have two. They are very sweet but can be a little shy. They are good layers and not too broody. Enjoy her.

Thanks soo much! I have never heard of that breed. She is very shy. I have had her a couple of months now, and she hasnt warmed up to us yet. That helps a lot. Now I know what to look for.

Because of the feathered legs and the rose comb I would think silky/ blue cochin cross..
my next question would be...does she have any dark skin and how many toes does she have?
She sure is a beautiful blue/silver hen!!

Blue andalusian/cochin cross would be a great guess....can't be pure andalusian since she has pea comb and feathered legs.....andys have clean legs and single combs.

not sure about the skin, Ill have to catch her tonight and see, but she doesnt have the extra toe like a silkie. I will try and remember to buy batts for my camera and take better pics, I really really want more chickens like her.
