What is this behavior? Pullet sitting on top of fence clicking loudly.

Yep sounds like an egg song, but pullets, or hens will also use this as an alarm call, or to call out to the flock if she's lost.

good to know. She was on the gate to the run with all her other chicken friends, so I’m not sure it was an alarm call. Or she was just annoyed with me, ha!

I've also had hens make this noise when disturbed.

but right now my pullets can fly out of their run :/ working on this.

Definitely, get that run covered with something to keep them inside the run......something that will hold up to snow load.

My 22 week olds use it as both an egg song and also as an alarm, this morning one of my non-laying pullets was blocking the coop entrance and my girl that needed to lay set up a racket that got them all going! Look for eggs or watch their behavior to see if something is setting her off.

Mine do that just before they lay, just after they lay, when they are thinking of laying, when they think someone else is thinking of laying, and when they are shouting encouragement at someone who is laying.
