Yes...female Muscovy duck

Well let's see....

1. You have chickens
2. You have geese
3. Now you have a free muscovy duck
4. Now you need a male, or several more females, to keep her company.

Does "Chicken Math" work for ducks too? Yep!

I have to admit, I laughed out loud about the whole loon thing.

The loons I have been around are stunning birds that have the most haunting calls you will ever hear. Haunting, but beautiful.

Loons can't stand up because their legs are so far back for swimming. They nest on a boggy shore next to the water and never go on land. They look as odd on land as a fish does.

Yep. We see a lot of them killed on land because they will land on roads. We think they mistake roads for water. We also have red neck grebes, funny birds with a silly voice.

I'd like to have a "matched pair" like that !!!

Perhaps I'll get some eggs this Spring and hatch some. I've read that Muscovies are GREAT around a small farm-yard...except you need to trim the wings. They are apparently very good fliers......like Mallards.

Wow, that is one gorgeous Muscovy Hen! I wish I lived closer, I'd come and get her. Muscovies are awesome, they don't quack so they don't disturb the peace (like my darling loud mouth Jumbo Pekin and Mallard Hens LOL), they eat so many unwanted bugs it's not funny, they have delightful personalities. They aren't as skittish as most ducks are and can be quite comical. I really don't think you'd be sorry if you kept her :)

The females don't hiss or mine never have but they do make the sweetest noise.. she is sure a pretty one. It's so sad that they are killing them off.
