My buff Orpington has this black protrusion on her beak/comb. Is this normal or cause for concern? She is 13 weeks. Thank you!

Ok, thank you. Do I need to treat it? If so, with what? Should I isolate her?
Fowl pox is a virus transmitted by mosquitoes or direct contact. I generally don't separate, but you can, there's no treatment. Your bird will get over it and than be immune. Keeping mosquito population low can help prevent it, but in Florida that's a hard thing.

To me it looks like a similar sore that has been pictured before on BYC over the years. Some think it may be caused a papilloma virus, and some have fallen off eventually. It also could be caused by a scrape or cut on a fence or feeder. No one ever seems to find out for sure. Fowl pox is likely to cause more scabs on the face, comb, or wattles, so if more appear, that could be it. Here are a couple of similar in threads:

Edited to change this term to a possible papilloma, instead of papilloamvirus.
