I admire you folks who rescue the battery birds. I feel so sorry for the ones I see with their beaks clipped. The only fine motor skill tool the animal has has been mutilated. If you have so many chickens in such a small space that they can't be trusted with each other, you have too many chickens in too small a space. I think the big producers need to scale back on numbers or expand their pens and let the chickens be chickens for their brief stay on this planet.

Rant off.

Its a good and righteous rant. I think we all feel that way. But, we are changing the world, one back yard chicken at a time!
