What is this chicken thinking?

lol I dont think its a nova scotia thin here. they use lots of slang and gaelic. I heard it the movie "Popeye" with Robin Williams when i was a little kid. One of the old ladies said it. It tickled me so much I use it on folks to get them to go "Huh?!" I just read, its origin come from England, where King Edward the 3rd was knighting folks left and right, its in reference to the gold metal starts and the ribbons they hang from.

My grandmother was from Indiana and she would frequently use the term, "My stars!" She never did add the "garters" part however. LOL
