What is this chicken thinking?

I'm sorry to here about Tina.

Thank you. It was quite unexpected. She was fine Sunday, when she laid her last egg, but by Tuesday she was very lethargic and not eating, green watery poop. We tube fed water with yogurt and antibiotics, but she faded away Thursday morning. Maybe an infection or perhaps she ate something bad- she was always exploring deep in the odd corners trying everything, perhaps she found some mold or a rotten bit of food. All just conjecture.

The others all seem fine, although they aren't eating much- probably in mourning. I did spend 5 hours yesterday and today cleaning, disinfecting and powerwahing the coop and replaced their bedding and all their food, threw out the old feed and bought a new bag just in case.

This was Tina at six months- what was she thinking at the time?

Repost of an old photo her in her memory, she just died Thursday, not yet 3-1/2 years old. She was smart, curious (perhaps too curious) and feisty and she is missed.
I am sorry for your loss of Tina. I still remember you posting about transporting your chickens via a movable cage from one area in your yard to the next when you first got them. She was lovely.

At least Tina lived a good life with an owner who cared about her very much. Did you check to see if you have any plants that are toxic to birds where she was exploring? I know that some plants have those symptoms, including avocado.

Let me see that last pic of me. That's the one you should blow up and hang on your wall so I can watch over you forever.

I'm so sorry about Tina. It is always hard to lose a beloved chicken.

I am so sorry that you lost Tina. Even from that one pic I can see she had a lot of personality.
