People talk about the three wise men who brought those fancy gifts to baby Jesus. Mighty riches beyond compare. But it was three poor chickens who really gave the most precious gifts to Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus. The two hens gave eggs to feed Mary and Joseph's exhausted bodies. Afterwards, the hens plucked all their downy feathers to soften Baby Jesus' bed so the straw would not scratch his skin. And the rooster crowed about the birth for all to hear, his voice as clear as a bell. So now we know it's the chickens who have a story to tell.
