He is very pretty though. I would post a picture of my beast if I knew how! lol

Thanks for pointing me to that thread! I read it all, it was quite entertaining. First I thought wow a puma! Then I read the thread and went back to look and now I don't know what it is. Its hard to tell!

He's a big beautiful tabby and my heart aches for you all- I have been there, done that many times, and it never gets any easier. But you do what you have to do out of love.

I started a tradition in many years ago in Texas and carried it on in South Carolina- any time I lose one of my rescues, I bury them and plant a fruit tree or rosebush on top. That way I know they are always still a part of us, and we a part of them.

Yes I think Balou has siamese, I know he doesn't look like Wonder at all, but Wonder has the gray base and Balou has black, so that would make some difference. Balou just has alot more color on his body then most. He's beautiful! I saw one once at a rescue that looked similar, except he had the classic tabby pattern, I think that may be one of my favorite cat colors!

I think Wonder may be a more typical tabby point, although he's the first I ever saw that went through so many color changes, I think siamese types generally get darker w/ age, not lighter. He actually was very light as a tiny baby, when he colored up I thought I was wrong about him being siamese type, his eyes weren't even blue! And it took them a long time to go back to blue, they went from the color they were in the close up pic and would vary between blue, gray, and green, but now they are pretty much blue with a tiny hint of green.

Ok, found a pic of Ham when he was about half grown, couldn't find any more recent ones, I think he looks like your Bruer,

Is he purebred or bitser?
He is huge, I'd say part Bengal, or is that just me?

I think Classic Tabby is right
I used to have a cat like that - - We called him Benny Baby, he died aged 14, everyone was heartbroken.

Yep, someone beat me to it. He's a BEAUTIFUL classic tabby. I feel your pain; I lost my 19 yr. and 8 mo. old longhair tortoiseshell calico Katie today. She had a long life, and knew she was much loved. Still, as we let them go they take a piece of our hearts with them... you'll know when it's time.

Ham does look pretty similar to bruer! Again though he has much more brown in his face and legs, where as bruer has much more black. Regardless they are both beautiful cats. I think it may be one of my favorite color patterns! Ham looks like he enjoys the spot light!

Tortis are females, it has to do with the coloring on the double X chromosomes; some color is taken from one X, some color is taken from the other X-->why get the "mosaic" of a cat (same with calicos)

I think either gender can be a tortoiseshell - it's the Calico that can only be female.

Torties are just three different mixed up colors in their coat.

I would have to agree that the OP's cat is a tabby.
