What is this Crazy Chick?

Working on my first flock - got straight run chicks to raise in Jan. Around March 25th I took some roos back to the breeder (they were about 10 weeks old). I picked up another chick and the breeder threw in this little silver chick to keep it company. The breeder didn't know what it was. I would guess around then it would have been maybe a week old - so would now be about 10 - 12 weeks old as well (give or take).

If anyone can tell me what it is I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks!

It's an Easter Egger....an Ameracauna mix.

It's a mixed breed cockerel.

Depending on the age of the gold laced Wyandotte behind it, that bird's also a cockerel.

That's what I was afraid of.... the Wyandotte was about 2-3 times the size of the silver chick when I got them, but both developed combs rather quickly. Well, even if they have to go back I still have 7 hens I love. These guys are so cute though...too bad. Thanks for your help.

Please correct me if I'm wrong as we do not use the term 'Easter Egger' over here in the UK but isn't an EE a term used for any Araucana/Ameraucauna mix that lays a coloured egg? The egg thereby resembling an Easter Egg? Therefore by its very definition aren't all EEs mixed breed?

Yes easter Eggers are mutts. All of them.
And that bird is an ee of some sort. Or mixed with an ee which would technically still make it an ee. I have never had an ee that actually laid blue eggs. Had ones that lay green, cream, light brown, but no blue.

In the UK we just call them mixed breed but I have just 'made'[ two beautiful EE cockerels that are Cotswold Legbar x Faverolle and they are SOOOOO pretty but I am so sad that they are cockerels as I'm not sure I'll find homes for them and their Daddy certainly won't want them around for much longer
