Well I guess I'm stuck with the mean thing then!! It's actually my sons chicken, we all picked out our own, but I know he's sorry he got this one. Everyone else has a sweet loving chicken and he has evil monster!

You'd be surprised, the nastiest little pullets can turn into sweet, beautiful hens as they get closer to laying age. Back off from this girl and give her some space--often times young pullets are extra mean because they don't want attention from the rooster (and you may seem like a rooster to her) before they're ready to breed. As she matures, she may tame up on her own. Or, she may grow up to be a mean hen but make an excellent broody mama. You never know!
