What is this? How do I fix it?

Just got a few day old welsummers home. This is my 7th batch of chicks but I’ve never seen this before. What is it? I was doing a check for pasty butt and saw this instead.

Looks like the navel. I would leave it alone. Hopefully it heals up.

That's the umbilicus. Unless the skin around the scab turns red and swollen, it's okay. It wouldn't hurt to dab a little Neosporin on it each day to encourage healing and head off bacteria.

Thank you for the prompt responses. I’ve hatched before, many times and have had small navel scabs with no worries. This one is larger than I’ve experienced so I wasn’t sure if it might be something different! I’ll vetericyn spray it, hopefully it’ll go down in size.
