What is this in or on my chickens’ poop?

This is on top of the nesting boxes. It looks like little pieces of something?? Side note- my chickens have been laying much fewer eggs. Possibly molting? And probably unrelated, but a few eggs smell and taste fishy each day. So frustrating! Any ideas on all of this?

They just look like quill shells off the feathers that you see whenever birds moult to me.

As for the fishy taste are you feeding them fish or fish meal ?

I agree, looks like quill feather sheath pieces from molting birds.
