What is this new "Auctions" option found on everyone's Profile??

Wonder why it is you can have something free or forsale and no one wants it, but if you auction it off everybody wants it..

Maybe. I always think "auctions!" then I think "ebay!" then I think "sleazy!"

Of course, BYC is NOT eBay so that logic does not apply.

We just joined so I have no idea what the Auction option is all about, but can somone tell me how I go about finding out if there is an animal swap meet this weekend in Waverly, Iowa? We heard there was but I want to confirm it before we drive that far.
