What is this on my rooster !

Can anyone tell me what this is !?
I thought it was like a dirt ball like he sometimes gets on his feet .. but he is VERY fresh can’t can’t get near him today I got lucky

A photo is two dimensional so it actually provides very limited information. If we were there and could view this guy in full 3-D, and use our smell and touch senses, we could garner information about it being bacterial or whether it's soft like a cyst, rock hard like a tumor, or maybe just caked on feed.

You will need to do all that for us.

The white things sticking out of comb tips are what intrigues me more than the lump.
