Is this injury or something else? I have him isolated. I put some triple antibiotics on it.

If he just got pecked and it's dried, he won't need to be isolated - except to protect him from another spunky chicken, that is. My Hens get Comb injuries sometimes when fighting over their favorite nest. Heals fast.
Thank you!

My Rooster ended up with an injury in the same location not too long ago. He has a HUGE comb so it wasn't from fence fighting. The only thing I could figure out was that the roosters in his bachelor Flock were tending to his dry skin and they "cared" too much. I was advised to slather it with either pine tar or blue kote. It took a month at least to heal up because I kept waiting on it to heal on its own. I tend to do a hands off approach with his flock since he is the only intelligent one. It ended up swelling and oozing and was just gross. I didn't have pine tar so I used Blu kote and it only took a few applications and they weren't bothering it any more.

Edited to add that my roosters was on both sides but same area.
