He is Mottled with what is called Gold leakage, that just means that he has Gold color showing where it shouldn't.
I would bet that is has some Spangled in his background but I believe that he is Mottled.

The "girlfriend" or pullet is in my opinion a hatchery quality spangled Russian Orloff or a cross with an Orloff and maybe a speckled Sussex.
Looks like hundreds I raised before I finally found what I was looking for.
