What is this predator?

As for fifty teeth in a possum's mouth being a danger to man and beast, the Rev Jamie Coots late of Chattanooga, Tennessee recently died

and he was only bitten by an animal with only two teeth.

Does that make the poor old possum 2,500% more dangerous than a rattle snake? I think not.

Rev. Coots was not too bright either. It is pure ignorance to allow rattlesnake(s) to bite you and then refuse life-saving anti-venom.

The opossum is not poisonous like the Timber Rattler. The not-so-wise Rev was not killed by teeth but by venom. Snake venom varies too. There is a reason Rev Coots played with rattlesnakes & let them bite him instead of say a Taipan, a Black Mamba, etc. -- bet he would not have survived the first bite of one of those (and they only had two fangs too). btw: the Timber Rattler has more teeth than just the two fangs on the upper and lower jaw:

You need to secure your coop down to less then 1/2" and 1/4"
is best for your situation but then you might also want to put
solid tin sheeting 1 foot on the ground to 2 feet above ground
level and with the critters you have a top as they will clime up
over the top to get in ......

best of luck in keeping your chickens safe,,,,,,,,,
