What is this strange piece of meat?

Next to the spine in a cavity at first I guessed cecal. But I started looking and could be a kidney.

That's what I was thinking, but someone was telling me that birds have only one kidney, yet I always find two of these in mine. Then there's all the data on the web that says they have two, but I just wanted to be sure.

Now I am thinking what I get in the sack packed in the frozen chicken or turkey. The turkey has the heart, gizzard and liver in the sack. Hmmm, no kidneys then ? Wonder why they don't add the kidneys ?
 
They are quite tasty if you're the type that likes liver, 'cause that's sort of what they taste like.
