Well,. Pud was a hit at the Banfield office,.. everyone just had to come into the office to see if there really was a chicken in the carrier. Pud was so sweet,. I can't believe how well behaved she was,. everyone wanted to hold her,..she was their first chicken patient.

Dr Saylor said it could be Fowl Pox,. and considering my flack is going through that now I had thought about it ,.. but it looks nothing like the pox the older birds have,.. and this is the only chick out of three in the same brooder to have it. she is also thinking tumor,...So she took a picture and wants to talk to her poultry Dr friend in another town,...she will get back to me ,.. said to keep up with the antibiotic in the eye just in case and wait.

I hope it's the pox,... that will go away,..

We had pud put to sleep this morning. The thing on her face was a tumor and doubled in size and another started in her other eye. DH usually handles the culling but since he is out of town with the Navy I took her to my vet and they fell in love ,.. she was so sweet. Anyway,..I hope that I never see those tumors in my chickens again.

Thanks ya'll,.. I know we all have to do it sometimes,.. put down a pet,..

I really liked this little chick,.. the vet could have saved it with surgery,.. for over a thousand dollars

,.. not that we could do that,.. but there was no certainty that the tumors wouldn't come back. It's another life lesson for DD,..
