hello!

Certainly I assumed our eggs couldn’t be fertile as we culled our only rooster maybe 8 weeks ago, however this egg looks like the target I was told fertile eggs would have and we had what I swear looks like a tiny chicken fetus in one of them.

Pictures attached below. Can anyone with chicken knowledge tell me what this is?

Thanks!

The spot on that yolk is an unfertilized germinal disc, there is one on all yolks and it is where development takes place IF fertilized and incubated....in a fertilized egg the spot has a distinct bullseye mark not showing here.
The tissue is just that, tissue

The egg looks fertilised to me... I know eggs can be fertilised weeks after a rooster is removed, but 8 weeks seems a bit too long.

The little blob in the first pic looks like just a big 'meat spot', tissue from the hens reproductive system inside the egg. A chicken embryo does look something like that at a few days old, but there would also be blood veins and the yolk would have broken apart if the egg had been alive. Also a broody chicken would have had to sit on it for days which you probably would have noticed.
