What color shell does the bird have? I'm wondering if it's some misplaced shell material from a blue/green egg layer?

That's what I thought too.
Was the 'foreign object' crunchy, soft, ...?
Green color may be mold, how old was egg??

Its soft.
Perhaps, but it was a newly laid egg, and newly opened.And it had no cracks in the shell...

Hmmm...It was a meat spot I'm pretty sure..Wait and see if you get more like that..?..If a new layer?..Strange things happen.

Yeah, mold was along shot, just the greenish color made me say that....
...tho now that I look again, it looks more gray than green.

May forever be a mystery....don't think I've ever seen one like it.
It'll have you breaking eggs one at a time in a separate dish before adding to pan or recipe for quite some time.
