What is this?

Is this frostbite? I just noticed it. I'm not sure the comb goes that far back. It's not pecking, none of the girls peck at him. I have not physically examined him yet. I'm starting with a picture first. It will not be easy to catch him to examine, but I will if I have too.

Should I treat it? If so, how?

It's a wound, either from pecking or from sticking his head somewhere he shouldn't. I would spray it with bluekote or other wound spray. It will heal up as long as he doesn't keep injuring it or others aren't pecking at it.

I thought about the wound thing. Earlier today he was trying to get behind the rabbit hutch. I bet he hit some hardware cloth. Now I have to go look and see if that was it. It would make sense since I didn't see it yesterday.

Well that was easy. I went out and csught him in 30 seconds and cleaned it and treated with collidial silver. He was very good about it.
