Yup, but what exactly does it do? Guessing what it was from was fairly simple, you just had to look through my previous posts in this thread, but guessing how it works is going to be a bit trickier.

It has to be like a trigger or stem of some sort. Keep in mind that I'm luck to even get a thumb drive plugged into the right port.

Close enough, the stem on the switch that the keycaps attach to have a little bump on the side, that when pressed down, hits the green piece and then the green piece pushes two metal contacts together registering the keypress.

My guess would be either an avocado or a mango, but I'm not sure.

avocado, yes. The color is the hint...it scoops it out and slices it all at the same time.
