What is this?

Not sure that this is the exact species... or I should say I’m not sure of the exact species I took pics of... since she runs back in her hidey hole when I walk by...

But this is the link I saw earlier...

Is that what it is?? RUN IT OVER!! I can handle any creepy crawlie that comes my way except spiders. OK, I really don't like bats when they come indoors, but spiders are the worst!

Do I what? Handle them? I don't necessarily pick them all up, but they don't freak me out like spiders do. I will pick snakes up and move them off the lawn so they don't get run over by the mower.
my phone is messing up..

do you have cicadas where you are?

I don't think we do here.. i have never seen a tunneling spider either. but i never looked for them.

i know we have no poison snakes here.. i heard west and south did..

I'm not sure, but I think I'm pretty much straight west of you. We do have cicadas. As far as I know, we do not have tunneling spiders. That would be a nightmare for me! No poisonous snakes here that I know of. My uncle used to live south of Rochester, though, and he had an occasional rattle snake. Ended up baling one when he was putting up hay, once.

i think Worthington area has rattlesnakes.. and the se along the mississippi does..

I have heard stories of people seeing Cicadias in other areas. but i have never seen them.. and never heard of them around here..

i spend most of my career in the far north.. all we had there that were weird were army worms.

Cicadas are pretty cool, but noisy. They shed their... exoskeleons? late in the summer.

"After the long 2 to 17 years, cicadas emerge from the ground as nymphs. Nymphs climb the nearest available tree, and begin to shed their nymph exoskeleton. Free of their old skin, their wings will inflate with fluid and their adult skin will harden. Once their new wings and body are ready, they can begin their brief adult life."

(I had to look it up to make sure I wasn't spreading false information.)
