Planting corn

It is actually "checking wire"....It was the processor on the corn planter (in modern terms)...Those little knots would be pulled through the planter and everytime they did a corn kernel was planted.

These were used before herbicides. You would then be able to cultivate the corn from every direction and not rip any out.

When planting at the end of each row you had to get off the tractor and move the wire for the next row to be planted square...
