Should I use a gauze pad or cotton ball as well for extra padding?

I put a non stick pad then wrap in vet wrap just enough to keep the pad in place then put the shoe on.

I'm not familiar with the name brand, but if the Vetwrap is like a rubberized, stick to itself, gauze like Coban?

Exactly the same, both are cohesive bandages.

I found vet wrap and I currently have it on his foot. What I would like to know is how to keep his foot from not getting wet and causing a fungal infection?

Do you have his shoe on too? Don’t let him swim while your treating.

I think the silver sulfadiazine will prevent some fungal infections:

I do not let him swim while I am treating this and no i am currently using a gauze pad and vetrap at the moment while his shoe is drying because he stepped in his water dish and got it all wet.

The last one I treated I cleaned with chlorhexidine, smothered in Neosporin on a telfa pad, wrapped in gauze, placed foam pad on gauze, wrapped again in Vetwrap, then covered the entire wrap with duct tape, but mine was minor compared to your duck.
