What is this

I just noticed my best layer has black spots on her crest. Is this a disease or has she been pecked or ??? Suggestions thoughts please. Tomorrow I'll try to examine more closely but a bit anxious now. Thanks

Shouldn't be anything to worry about, just a few pecking wounds. Fowl pox is a growth, these are just scabs, she should heal completely very soon!

Like someone else said, it’s NOT fowl pox. Dont worry about that. Just some scabs, looks like she was pecked a bit

It looks like pecking wounds to me.
Chances are the pecking is happening at night while roosting or everyone is getting settled for the night.

I see a rooster in the background. That is how the rooster mounts the hen. First he eases up beside her, then bites her comb, then jumps on her back. Usually there is dirt on the back from where he stands but I don't see any. It happens pretty quick. If you aren't looking, then you missed it.

That is probably his favorite hen.
