WHAT is this?!?

I think that Dobielover may be right that it was something like oviduct tissue being swallowed up into the egg during production. Very few of us can know what causes those things unless the hen dies and a necropsy can be done after death. You can do one yourself or have your state vet pathologist do one. Hopefully, this was just a one time thing, and she will live a normal life. Hens can stop laying one day, and still live for years.

Do you have fig trees in the area
Oddly enough I do have a fig tree in my yard! However this was like meat when I cut into it so I don’t think that’s what it was or not sure how it could’ve gotten in the reproductive tract but that makes me look over the pictures again for sure LOL what happened
