It has been pretty cold, windy, and rainy where I live for the past week. I have four 7-week old chickens. I was wondering what would be too cold for them to be in. I want to let them go outside but I don't want them to freeze. Thanks!

I wouldn't put mine out unless it was in the fifties or sixties, but the best way to tell is to put them out and then watch them for awhile. If they start to look cold then bring them back in.

I put mine out in the coop, in their own little pen. Covered the pen with blankets and put a heat lamp out there for them. They were too big to stay in the house, but too small to be out without protection. They loved having more room too!

would it be all right if they were out there when it was raining lightly. I want to get them used to the rain but I don't know if it is too early for it.
