What is with all this YELLING???

Yay for her!

Our EE, btw, is a total screacher. Drives me nuts. She yells at squirrels. She yells cuz she needs to lay. She yells cuz someone else is in the box. Whatever. We're in a suburban area and aren't actually zoned for chickens so I worry she'll bother someone - I know they can hear her at least three houses away. But so far no complaints.

My EE Rebecca sings the longest Egg Song of all the girls. I have a recording of one of her songs lasting 3 minutes.

We got our first 5 hens on the same day you bought those. We got 1 BR, 1 RIR and 3 white leghorns. Today is the first day that all 5 have laid an egg. It started out with one for about a week and then all of the sudden 3 started laying for a week and now all 5 have started today! Congrats on yours laying two at a time! If they all would do that, lol. We've got two production reds that are about a month away from laying and some EE's and 1 BO about 2 months away from laying.

My EE's are not yelling or doing the Egg Song BUT one of the SLW's was a real loud mouth this afternoon...very unusual since they are my quietest hens. Her comb and wattles have suddenly begun to turn red so just maybe I will find her in the nest box one day soon!! She is the same age as the EE's. I really thought one of the BR's would be next...have two with red faces...no squat yet.

I'm so envious of your beautiful blue eggs...CONGRATS!
