What is wrong with my ducklings.......Pics

What is a downfall(s) if the brooder is to small?

What do most folks use?

I have an outdoor pen for them but the temps dropped this weekend so I haven't put them out there.

It could be, they are growing FAST

Also I read here that Purina Flock Raiser has enough Niacin in it??
It has enough niacin. Some ducks could require more, but if you aren't seeing any issues, you probably don't need to add extra.
How hot is the brooder? Ducks need less heat than chickens and they could be getting too hot, but it also could just be their normal fluff falling out.
It might help to set the water on a grate to catch the excess water into a container (like a short tote), but that is all personal preference as far as how dry you want to keep your brooder.

What are you using for the brooder? I used a large kiddie pool. They grow fast that is for sure!
The larger the brooder the easier to clean believe it or not. And, the ducklings can get away from each other if needed - sometimes you can have a naughty duckling picking on everyone else. :)

I'm using a large storage tub. Largest one walmart had. It is big as far as totes go, doesn't mean its big as far as brooders go.

I just made a couple adjustments. I raised the heat lamp (Needed to be done anyway) and made a homemade waterer where they can just dunk the heads in. Hopefully that keeps things a little drier.

They have just been throwing water EVERYWHERE within seconds using a chicken waterer. New bedding gets changed daily and its soaked within the hour.

I just remembered I bought a 50 gal plastic stock tank for their "pool" when they get older. I can use that for a larger brooder :he
There ya go. I had the pool already because I bought it for my dogs to cool off in in the summer. I started off with a tote as well. They outgrow those real fast. :)

It's possible one or more are picking on each other. The picture of the black baby looks exactly like one of my ducklings looked like when, for some reason, his/her mama was picking on it and it got a bald spot because of that. (Could've been the other ducklings were picking on the little guy, too)

It could possibly be from other reasons, but I wanted to share what I thought.
