So I have 2, female 3 week old Pekin ducks I had shipped from a very well known hatchery. They both had been developing perfectly normal and even, however the past week I've noticed one only wants to lay down constantly. She'll take two steps and then lay right back down. Her sister always seems ravenous and starving and she eats but doesn't rush to the bowl like her sister. They eat kale, brocolli, carrots and cabbage and of coarse their duck food. They are spoiled rotten, swim 2 -3 times a day in their pool. But today and yesterday she just seems to lay there, even closing her eyes like she is exhausted. I also noticed that she isnt developing as fast as her sister. Everything on her is smaller, from her feet, to her wings to her feathers coming in. Is it possible she would be a failure to thrive this far down the road when they damn near look grown? I'm so worried about her and we dont want to lose her. And to boot, no vet around here sees ducks!!!! We are in eastern Carolina...what the hecks up with that?!? If anyone has an idea or has seen this before. I Thought maybe she could be exhausted from growing so fast but then wouldn't her sister be behaving the same way?
