what is wrong with people?

The news...it does depress but I want to know what is going on and what is coming at me...I want to be prepared when the wheels fall off the wagon of our society...9.5% unemployment, IOUs to persons in Ca needing goods and services...so many things turning South in our society...the MJackson thing is absurd...he was a drug addict, maybe a pedophile, freaky and weird, but he could sing and dance...whoopee...how many soldiers died last month and no one knows their names...how many babies starved in Darfur and we complain about ever so stupid things in our daily life...at least we have a life...sometimes I od on the news and I have to shut it down for a while and glance elsewhere...like to "America's Got Talent" or "So You Think You Can Dance." Documentaires are sometimes good...Animal Cops is out due to the urge to commit mahem on animal abusers...
I agree with,

"God is great, beer is good and people are crazy."

I'm a member of the media. Luckily, I only have to deal with the happy stories--interesting people, events, etc.

However, I do work for several law enforcement publications so I am out with police officers quite a bit.

I'm amazed at some of the crazy people that live around me. And I've been to several states in the US traveling with cops. Some of the stuff people do or so, I'm just shocked. I mean, it makes me really feel normal, lol. Because what is normal anyways?

I think I'm the only one on here that watches the news. I seem to be upset with it for a very different reason. Living near vancouver on our local news they will talk about the olympics for maybe 10 minutes per hour. Vancouver was the first place to have massive protests over the olympics, so many people didn't want it. The news is all "good news" though because they have advertisers that will spend big bucks promoting their products. That is followed by a segment called "around the world in 90 seconds" ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Is there really only 90 seconds worth or relevant news in the entire world! The canadian news is so overly optimistic that we have become blind to the reality of the world. People are dying, starving, committing horrible crimes and how will we change anything if we don't know about it? How will we stop fascists and ruthless dictators if we don't see it, I think we need to be outraged so we don't turn a blind eye to what's really going on in the world. um...end of rant...sorry If I made anyone mad

I don't watch the news and I don't read the paper. I get my weather on the internet if I really want to check it but usually I just get up in the morning and look out the window.

I don't need to read about politics cause even if the people you vote in aren't crooked at election time - they will be within a year. The world is a mess & I don't need to see it. I like living in the middle of nowhere and having that "Ignorance is Bliss" feeling. I have ethics and morals that most people around don't and it just galls me to see the things people teach their kids by example. Grow up already. I'm definitely not in the In Crowd in our community but I can sleep at night and I want to teach my children those same ethics and morals. Just cause everyone else does something doesn't make it right is what I tell my kids.
