Looks like egg yolk in the shavings - probably from soft shelled egg. The birds will eat the membrane and usually leave yolk stained shavings.

Does she normally lay hard shelled eggs? How old is she? What do you feed?

The white on the fluff is hard to see, but I suspect it's poop. Gather her up and take a closer look. Clean her off if you need to.

Is she acting normal, eating/drinking, etc.?

All 3 of these hens are 1 year old black jersey giants. 2 are new innthe last few days and one seemed to have eaten an egg. And not finding the normal number of eggs in nesting boxes.

OK so 2 of the 3 are new?

Could be egg eating - but if 2 have been just introduced to a new place, stress from a move can sometimes cause a disruption in laying - a response would be soft shelled or shell-less eggs - the membrane (soft shell) is often eaten and the contents spilled into the bedding.

If you think you have an egg eater instead - then gather eggs as soon as you can - maybe several times a day.

We check for eggs many times a day and just have seen this one episode but new hens not laying like they did at old house.
