What is your fav book/Movie?

It would be a toss up with Jane Austin's "Pride & Prejudice" and John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath". Can't tell my mother was a high school English teacher for 34 years now can you? Easy reading would probably be Janette Oke's series of "Love Comes Softly". Favorite movie was "The Lord of the Rings" and all the "Harry Potter" movies. I'm all across the board aren't I?

I would have to say my all time favorite movie is On Golden Pond! I adored Katherine Hepburn. Favorite books, that's a little harder. I liked most of the Stephen King books but my fav. was Bag of Bones. I actually like his wife's books too! My fav. there is Pearl. Most anything by Jodi Pecoult, Harry Potter, I could go on forever. My hubby's favorite movie is Blazing Saddles!

I have alot of favorite movies. But the first one that comes to mind is " House of Cards."
Books?....well I read alot of Steven King, I think my favorite was " The Long Walk " in the Bachman books

But there's so many more I can think of, not enough time to type.

Favoeite book: Gone with the Wind. However, for very light and amusing reading, I have to say my favorite author is Georgette Heyer and her Regency romances (before SMUT became a necessity for steamy romances.)
Movie: Seabiccut.

Wow, this is a tuff one. As you get older, there are so many to choose from.

The movie, I have watched most often over the years and has always enjoyed, cried and quoted often is "Gone with the Wind" I read the book several time as well. Yet somehow I can't really say it is my favorite, there are so many other good ones.

The book, I loved above all othes is one called "MRS MIKE" by Benedict and Nancy Freeman. I read it in High School for the first time. It was made into a move in the 40's . I have owned 3 different copies of the book and read it again about ever 10 years. Not a literary prize winner, just a wonderful insitful story of the Canadia Northwest Territory in the early 1900's.

I cant really pick a movie as a favorite, so ill skip that one.

For books Id have to say "The Wheel of Time" series by Robert JOrden. The "Inheritance" trilogy by Christopher Paolini (First book is Eragon, the movie was just made) Comes in a close second.

WOW!!! You guys are really bringing back some great choices to my mind! I'm going to spend the whole summer re-reading and re-watching a lot of old faves!! I'm excited to try out some new books and movies and I think I'll have to start from this list!!! I am going to see "Pan's Labyrinth" this evening. It looks so dark and twisted! I am happy to see so many fellow sci-fi and fantasy lovers out there too! I am also a huge fan.... can't wait for the next Wheel of Time, Robert Jordan book...unfortunately he has cancer and is undergoing treatment, so not sure how long it will be until he is well enough to write again. His blog reports that he is responding well and all Jordan lovers are rejoicing at this news!

Keep the recomendations flowing guys! I am really enjoying seeing what you are all reading and watching!!!
