What is your favorite breed?

RIRs, no wait, Delawares, just a second, any of the rocks..............................read the signature.

we have several breeds: I think the Barred Rocks are my favorite; the golden Laced Wyandottes are beautiful but a couple of them are very agressive-probably will not get those again.

this year we ordered Cuckoo Marans, Buff Orpingtons, Aracaunas, Delawares, Silver Spangled Hamburgs, Speckled Sussex and my grand-daughter had to have a Naked Neck.

by next year I may have a new favorite!

My favorite right now (of my Australorp, RIR, and Buff O) has to be my Buff.....They're only 4 weeks old, but from my research of what they are going to look like, I'd have to say the Buff is the prettiest bird.
My Black Australorps have to be the UGLIEST chicks I've seen!! But from what I understand, they are some EGG LAYING MACHINES!!!!! So look don't matter!

Not really a breed - but my favorites are the gold sex links (rir x riw). They are amazing layers and have a sweet personality. That may change this year though since I have a bunch of chicks right now and many of the breeds I have never had before.

I love my dominiques! Practical, utilitarian, friendly, efficient, and they remain productive for many years. But I was looking for farm animals (and maybe something rare and historic), not pets. If I were to ever have the time, money and space for something chosen for aesthetics, it would be, hands down, mille fleur d'uccles. They're absolutely beautiful!

I thought the same about my Australorp, but now at 7 weeks s/he is gorgeous!

So far I think my favourite breed are my Orpingtons. The two Lavenders I have are so sweet and calm, and my little Buff one (3 weeks) jumps to the top of the brooder every time I take the lid off and just watches me. I was actually just today looking through Orpington colour threads and drooling over chocolates and jubilees and splashes and blues and... I want some of each.

I have lots of different breeds though, so we will see as they grow. I really like my Silkies and Belgian D'Uccles for looks so far.

I have a new favorite and I don't own a single one of them: Dark Cornish Bantams! I was at a show and there was ONE. He was just awesome, what a little tank. He had an so ugly it was cute, face. He WON Best of Show. Now, I just want some of those so bad!
