What is your favorite comfort food and why?

POTATOS (Fry em,Mash em,Bake em, I don't care I love em!!!) Sweet Potatos,reg potatos love em both!! LOVE sweet potato casserole
When I was growing up this is all we had at times and I have over 50 recipes for potatoes in my head.There cheap and easy to cook.
I also love my grandma's sugar cookies (soft and yummy) with a glass of milk!
Sweet Tea is a staple at our home to but has to be drank out of a mason jar (I was raised in the south can't ya tell haha!)

Pizza with a Coke always!

1.) Home made chili with chopped green onions, shredded cheddar cheese, and FRITOS on top.

2.) Pork chops, especially when I "cheat" and just use shake-n-bake & throw them in the oven for 20 minutes...

3.) Toasted marshmallows and/or S'Mores

4.) A glass of Zinfandel, in the dark, after everyone else in the house is asleep. MAYBE with a really bad "Reality Show" on TV....

Ohhh let's not forget Mashed Potatoes with gravy.....

Oooooooooooooooo.... I just thought of something else, it's kinda a "Pittsburgh Thing", I think, but you could do an "imitation" at home (I have);

A big, messy, carb-o-holic NIGHTMARE of a sandwich from Primanti Brothers!! Pretty much any deli meat & cheese "filling" (my fav is steak & cheese or big ground meat patty, DH likes "italian" meats/cheese), grilled, on thick-cut italian bread (NOT grilled or toasted), with home-cut fries and coleslaw ON it!!! They also add a fried egg to it if you want, which is awesome...

!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always figure I may as well just tape it to my butt & thighs, but it is sooooooo worth it every now & then...

Mom always made me grilled cheese and tomato soup if I was sick and due to my sort of stressful childhood I had ulcers very early and was sick a lot. Anyway, the sandwiches and tomato soup are still a fave with me if I'm sick or feeling sorry for myself.

When I was sick as a little girl, my mom would make milk toast. Toast your bread, warm milk, butter, dash of salt and pepper and pour over the toast. It was soooooo warm and soft and good to the tummy . . . or her potato soup . . .nothing fancy, no bacon or thickened, just plain ole' tater soup, but oh my . . . .I still make milk toast if I don't feel perky or I am sad and missing my mom . . .makes me feel better. She has been gone since 1990, but that doesn't mean I don't miss her any less. My kids looked at me like I had rocks in my head when I would offer to make it\\\\milk toast for them, and I don't think to this day, any of them have tried it. What a loss!!!
