I have Orpingtons, Wyandottes, Australorps, Barred Rocks, Welsummers, Easter Eggers and Speckled Sussex. My favorites by far are the Sussex, they have such curious personalities,with the Wellies being a close second. The Orpingtons and Rocks are docile and sweet, but don't really have personalities like the Sussex and Wellies.

I agree! My Speckled Sussex are sweet, docile, curious and fun to have around. My SS roos is a big clown and quite the gentleman. Really love their personalities. And they are good layers!

Wyandotte are my fave so far. Friendly, and sweet but just enough mean in them to stand up for themselves. My BO is a sissy. She runs from everything.

I love my Buff Orpington, named Rhulain (pronounced Roo-lane). She is friendly and does not bully the other chickens, but the other chickens know not to bully her. She is one of the prettiest ones. Many people have said that Rhulain is their favorite one!

Ooo, hard choice. It would be Pekins & Orpingtons. I like Barred Rocks too but have yet to own one, I'm looking for the bantam version

my favorite chicken breedare seramas. They are so small,cute, and BRAVE. I WISH I HAD SOME IM LOOKING FOR THEM IN NNJ HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME OUT WOULD LOVE TO HAVE THIS BREED!!!

Banty's.. Less poop! As soon as we got rid of the production birds the coop is 100x cleaner. Did you know that bantam's on average poop 1/6 the amount of large fowl. I like an assortment but my favorite is my white bantam Plymouth Rock "Princess".
