What is your favorite quote?

Wow! I love all the collective wisdom!

My favorite quote is from Les Mis: "They can't take what you freely give."

And my favorite Scripture is: Do not grow weary in doing good, and in due season we will reap if we do not lose heart. Thank You Jesus

"Don't worry about your needs...it won't add an inch to your height or a day to your life...But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" - Jesus

As a mother of 5, 3 above the age of 24, my favorite quote is..."you are so unfair! I hate you!" My response being: Thankya, thankya vera much!"
The oldest four, the youngest of those being my 17 year old have admitted to me, that, yep, they will say the same things to their children. I think that is awfully mature of them.

My DH quoted his favorite - mine are:

You are in life, where you are in life, because that is where you choose to be.

Now, my sister and I argue this all the time and I do agree that there are sometimes situations over which one has no control. However, how one reacts to and rises above these situations is their choice.

and:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

My fav is in my signature, My mom used to say it all the time when us kids would say "mom I wish I had". I surely do miss her. Those with moms still here tell them often how much you love and appreciate them, you never know when it could be your last time to do so.

It has been my experience that folks who have no vices have very few virtues. - Abraham Lincoln

Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. -Abraham Lincoln

Three generations of McCartys lived in Springfield and my GG grandfather David McCarty was an acquaintance of Lincoln. I had a GGG Aunt who was a nanny for Lincoln's sons when he was a lawyer in Springfield.

One of my favorite quotes is from the movie "Seabiscuit"

The owner of the horse in that movie says

"Sometimes when the little guy doesn't know he's the little guy, he can do great things"
