What Is Your Favorite Type Of Game Chicken

Quote:
You are using GAME as in actual fighting game that are used for illegal purposes. You are implying that Old English, Moderns or other poultry descendant from GAME chickens no longer can use that title because they are not used to kill other birds anymore.
What you are basiclly saying is that only birds that are used to kill other birds can use the title of GAME, correct?

first off..don't put words into my mouth..secondly..hopefully this thread will get locked! Now..as i said, oegb's are NOT game, Modern game bantams are NOT game and neither are sumatras..Game is Game..if you are any kind of breeder, which apparently you aren't you would know that preservation is a priority, not for illegal purposes!

The only way to know if your birds are truely game is if you test them. I am assuming you fight yours to see if they are "game". If not then they are no better than what others call game. They may have been game at one time, but who knows now? They may look like "games" but so do a lot of other breeds that decended from Games.

I bet you do hope that this thread gets locked. I would only hope that our responses would be deleted so that others can talk about their Game birds with out being ridiculed for not having pit games.

What you are saying is like calling a cuckoo maran is a barred rock. There is a big difference. And, like Casey said, there is a sever need to preserve all of the game breeds. Because buff silkies were derived from cochins, does that make them cochins...no they are silkies.

Well it's not hard to tell if a chicken is of game blood are not. And no you don't have to fight them to tell if they are or not. When you go to kill your birds to put in the freezer, a true game bird won't make a sound. While all the others will scream and raise 9 kinds of cane. A true game chicken will just take it with out a sound.

No, what Casey is talking about is Game as in Heart. What you are talking is a breed. Old English, Modern, Sumatra, Asil, and others are game BREEDS. They were derived from breeds of games. Exhibition shows may have taken most of the Game(heart) out of them, but they still look like the original games from England( with an American twist).

If you want to put yourself on a pedestal and claim you are preserving a breed, thats fine but don't poke at others because they wish to call their birds a game breed, which most people do. There are plenty of forums out there where you can talk about your GAMES and bash others and they will sing along with you.

And for the record I was raising what y'all are calling "games" 35 years ago. I have since moved on.

So we was talking about breeding? I thought it was all about how to tell if they was game or not. Stick to the subject. If you want to discuss breeding we can, But from what I have read here we are not on that subject.

good gosh, some of u can be so mean spirited, got to prove a point no matter what!
american game is a specific breed, and just because some of us dont fight them doesnt mean we cant take advantage of the superior chicken that came of it.
this site is supposed to be a share site where we help each other, not prove a point, geesh, get a life

The title is "What is your favorite type of Game chicken". Would that be Old english Game, Modern Game, american game etc?
Y'all are the one ones that decided that pit games are the only games and every one else should go home.
