Lot of Modern Game haters? Bad past?. Either you have confused modern games with something else or you haven't a clue what you are talking about. And I mean that in a nice way.

Moderns were developed for exhibition... if I'm not mistaken after fighting became illegal in England. They were developed using the Old English Game which do have a past and many people automatically associate "game" with that same past. So it's possible that even the Modern Game could have had that stigma rub off... JMO

Pretty confusing infomation here. Yes Moderns were devopled for exhibition, but so were a lot of breeds. And a lot of those breeds have some game blood in them somewhere. Poultry shows were developed after cockfighting was banned in England, not so that people could show Modern Games. When shows first started there still wasn't a "modern game". There was some Old Engish blood used in their developement but I would say that more Malay was used than anything.

While there are those who dislike Modern Games ( although I don't think it is as rampant as you would like to make out) it is has more to do with their looks not their temperment. To say that people dislike Moderns for their Game past is like hating the British because of the Revolutioary War. There is very little "Game" left in them, and it was 150 years ago.

You do seem confused. I never implied that shows were developed to show modern game, I said that Modern Game were developed after fighting was made illegal and shows were developed. I also never made any reference to how many people liked or disliked Modern Games, I merely offered an opinion on why someone might think they had a past and stated at the end it was just my opinion. I agree there is very little game left to them. Malay are also considered a game breed although they have been bred for exhibition for quite some time as well. I'm sorry if my post was confusing.

They may have a little aseel blood in them, but they are definitely not pure aseel. More than likely they are American or Spanish gamefowl with some sort of "jap"/"oriental" blood added to the mix, thus the pea comb on them. Nice looking birds though.

I like modern game bantams because they talk in full sentences
