What is your favorite waterfowl?

Swans are so graceful and peaceful to watch! I also LOVE mallard ducks. They remind me of Colorado and when I was a little girl. They are my dad's favorite!

Domestic ducks would have to be call ducks and Indian Runners.

Domestic geese would be the big dewlap Africans and sebastipols.

Wild ducks would be mandarins and then the tree ducks closely followed by all other wild ducks.

Wild geese would have to be red breasted and then cape barren followed by ruddy headed and all others.

Any wild duck or goose I guess is my favorite.

Mergansers...actually, now that I think about it...any bird that doesn't fly over my head and leave a present!

I forgot Nene geese

. They are my favorite geese. If the price tag wasn't so high and you didn't need a permit to own one I'd own some right now.

Well ... my little dark baby gooses are getting the beginnings of what look like dewlaps, so ... it looks like they are probably going to be Africans. Knob, dewlap, and all. Still, they are the greatest little guys, so for now I'm going to have to say that African geese will be my favorite for a while.

I'm still not sure if the other is am Embden or Chinese ... he's looking more China-ish but I'm not sure at this age, and I don't know too well anyway.

If I could pick any goose I wanted, I think I might have Pilgrims.

Then again, I'd probably want Sebastopols, Embdens, and Toulouse to go with them ... but Pilgrims look like great geese.

I prefer a goose over a duck, but ... my favorite ducks would probably be Wood ducks, Muscovies, and calls.

My F & W runners have great personality too, so I'd have to add them in there. And if I can have as many kinds as I want, I'd have to get Roens and Mallards too.

Oh ... never mind ... I like too many to have favorites, LOL.
