What is your flock's favorite food?

Mealworms, tomatoes, cabbage, BOSS, pasta, nectarines, cooked potatoes, bread, and especially any sort of meat!

Mine love anything they can get their beaks on. While they were still in the brooder I used to give them some parakeet seed as a treat to let them practice foraging. I still remember the first time i dropped a piece of bread in with them. Ever since, that is their absolute favor treat. They still love the bird seed (with wheat and sorghum in it) I spread on the ground for scratch. Before winter, I would weed around the garden to give the some greens, and give them any excess from the garden. They love it all. Most of the greens are entertainment for me because they are hilarious trying to rip of pieces of lettuce or cabbage. Most of that stuff they look at for awhile before getting into it. I watched for nearly an hour the first time I put half a watermelon in for them. Never touched it, but the next morning there was a little juice and no pink on the rind.

I stopped buying "scratch grains" because its mostly corn, and they eat it but only after eating the wheat first. I found some 50lb bags of birdseed from a mill with wheat, and they eat all of it.

...chopped up apples and red grapes---it's the only time they get into a chicken fight .

..the other is when we have the long spagetti , i mix in a bit of the sauce and chopup a homemade meatball ,then the race is on...gotta love chicken tv....

Japanese beetles--a big favorite

Mine seem to have taken an extra liking to the Diamond brand puppy food, I've got some that follow me around just waiting for me to sit the can down! Luckily mama dog is a chicken killer and the chickens know it, so at least the food that I give to the puppies is safe!

Our chickens love most everything! The only thing they haven't been crazy about so far is grapes. They are too skeptical about those... They LOVE cat food, melons, rotten bananas (YUM), old bread, and scrambled eggs. It's nice that no food goes to waste now that we have chickens!

I was splitting the wood of an older dead oak tree one day and found a few of those REALLY fat white grub things. Those - I have never seen my chickens go as crazy as that day, not even meal worms replicated it.
