What is your floor made of

Hi everyone. I'm starting my coop build. Pallets covered with plywood for the flooring. I want to put something water proof as the final layer. Looking for ideas of what others have used.
*dirt floor isn't an option - too much ground water
*I will be using bedding as well but looking for something to protect the wood
Good exterior paint

I'm painting my plywood floors with an outdoor deck paint. Use at your own risk as it's not something I've found much info on.
Lots of people have recommended Blackjack 57. I have no experience with it, and don't know how expensive it is or how it stands up to very cold temps.

I have 4-6" of pine shavings over the floor in my coop too. Soft landing for when the chickens jump down off the roost.

By the way, @WBZ,

:welcome

That sounds like a great suggestion for most too. Unfortunately, the reviews I've come across said it nearly cracks like glass in the cold. I love ND but boy we're sure limited here on options! LOL
Good for you for doing your research!

You should start an "introducing myself" thread. We love to meet new members. How many/what breed of chickens you have, etc.

For my raised coop, plywood. And yea, stacking up some bedding keeps the floor from too much moisture.

For my new coop, dirt floor. Was concerned about groundwater as well, but I ended up moving a bunch of dirt to raise the ground in and around the coop to mitigate water. Had some pretty hard rains and it still stays dry in there.

Linoleum with construction sand on top!
