What is your most clever coop/run idea?

This is what we did to make it easier to clean and have a seperate door for getting the eggs and changing the water and food.
This is a picture of the doors where the chickens nests are and where the food and water are located now.

This is a almost finished coop with a hinge that opens the hole side of the coop. This makes it so easy to clean!! except when I have my little beagle thinking it's her dog house

We have a shed that looks almost exactly like yours (8 x 10) and are just starting to remodel it into a coop. We plan to add a run off of it just like what you have done, but a bit smaller, maybe 10 x 10. We are pulling up the floor, which is rotting anyways, laying down hardware cloth, then new flooring (OSB?), then a vinyl or linoleum remnant. I am concerned about rats getting under there, since we can't raise it up off the ground, hence the hardware cloth. Have you had any rat problems under yours? We are in the Pacific NW, so have very cool, wet weather. We have two large apple trees in front of the shed and a pear tree on the side of it, so it will get plenty of shade. We have an acre, with 20 acres behind us that is wetlands, so lots of animals-deer, elk, coyotes, raccoons, possums. Also hawks, eagles and osprey nesting nearby. So we have to have a very secure run.
My pumpkin patch for the grandsons is close to where the run will be, so plan to make a compost pile that will then fertilize the patch and my raised beds for vegetables. What do you have in your little bed next to the run? I like that idea a lot, to disguise the run a bit and make it look prettier for my neighbors. I was just so excited to show my hubby your layout, since that is what we hope to have by the end of the summer!
Susie:)
