What killed my chickens?

Since two chickens are missing, would it be possible that there are two foxes about?

It's very possible. Especially since it is spring and animals are starting to make babies.
If you do plan on trapping, I would either set up two traps or trap one after another.

They tend to live in family groups of one dog, one vixen and her cubs and a few female helpers from previous litters. The family has one or more breeding dens within their territory so I'm guessing you probably have more than one fox hanging around at night.
If you can find a way of humanely dispatching the caught fox then I'd suggest that is the right route to take.
The only other thing I can suggest is to take preventative action and make the coop predator proof which would be most peoples way of dealing with it..
As spring is in the air, you'll start to hear mating calls during the late afternoon and night which would suggest there are a few foxes around your area.

I trust you don't lose any more 👍 :)
