I am still guessing on what some of my Bantams are. They are purebreds from Cackle Hatchery, I just don't know what kind yet, lol. I have 2 sweet little hens that are almost all black. They had black down that turned into black feathers, black beaks and black legs. Their rumps are gray and if it means anything the bottoms of their feet are a sort of pinkish gray, but mostly gray. They are small build like the Lavender Old English Game Bantam I have. They are only 3 weeks old and fly great already. So just when I thought they were going to be all black forever, they started growing gold and brown feathers around their necks.
So, does anyone recognize these girls? Also, will they continue to change color? Thanks for the help.

silkie mixes it looks like

I think that the zoom of the camera made them look fluffier than they are. They have long pointed wings and their tails are getting long and sleek little bodies. I have 3 Silkies and they are nothing like them. They have clean legs and 4 toes. I don't think that the hatchery would sell me mixes and call them purebred. Now maybe lesser quality in some birds. One of my Silkies has 5 toes on one foot and 4 toes on the other. When I bought the assortment, I thought they would send along a list of what they are. Oh well. It is fun guessing. I have learned more about all kinds of chickens while trying to figure out what they are, lol.

I received a Bantam asst. from cackleberry that I didn't order, along with 15 other chicks that I did. They even billed me for them and told me they didn't make mistakes like that.
ANYWAY...
I received 3 chicks like your black one there. Streamlined! It looks like yours are just a bit older as mine don't have those neck feathers yet. When did you get them? What others did you get?

i dont see anything on their site that looks even close to that :-/

I ordered the purebred Bantam Assortment of 15 but they sent 20 which was fine with me. They got here June 9th so they were born June 6th. 3 weeks old yesterday. From what I can figure out so far, I have ...
3 White Silkies
2 Millie Fleur D'Uccle
2 Lavender D'Uccle
1 Barred Cochin
2 Cochin Chipmunks?
1 Lavender Old English Game Bantam
2 Blacks?
4 Easter Eggers (3 different kinds)
3 Misc whites that are all different
I emailed them after I placed the order and requested the Silkies, my son wanted them. I have the feeling they are going to mine, but that is fine. They are cute. They are all doing great.

If you reed the info about the Bantam assortment, it says they have 61 breeds that can be included in the assortment. But they don't list them all. First time I bought from a hatchery. Don't know why I thought they would come with a list of breeds, lol.
