What kind of Bantam?

nice assortment. i see d'uccles, silkies, cochins, games...i dont see any ee's though...looks like 4-5 cockerels so far that i see (i might be counting the same one twice so no definite answer there...gender guesses can be made at 6 weeks but 10 weeks is more ideal though...i see at least 4 cockerels in this pic

best way to tell gender is with individuale pics of the head and a full body shot of it standing on its own

So the 4 that I that I thought were EE's with light colored leg's are actually games? That would be the brown one under the stick, the brown one on the right next to the Barred Cochin and the the brown one with the white head on the left. Plus the tiny brown one that is in one of the other pictures, she is the sweetest little thing.
And I keep telling that Barred Cochin that she better be a hen! What age do the hens combs change color if at all?

a few weeks before they lay an egg (some times on certain breeds they can turn sooner) but never this early. im pretty sure the barred is going to be a cockerel.

That is in the back of my mind too. But I did read that the barred hens develop early and do have a larger comb than alot of hens. We used to have 3 or 4 roosters, all free range and I thought it was great how they did not bother each other, just each took their girls to different areas. Year and a half, two years later, bam!!! Everyone was fighting. I had to keep grabbing them and throwing them under boxes or laundry baskets. I know I was breaking up a fight between 3 of them one time. Two of them blinded our beautiful black tailed white rooster in one eye. We treated him but the eye was cloudy after that. He became the "Pirate" after that. He never fought again either.

I agree that you have at least four roos, that the OE is a brown-red OE, that there are no EEs, and I don't remember if you included these in your breed list but it looks as though you may have a silver pencilled Cochin or two. I also agree that they are all pretty darn cute.

Thank you. Which one do you think is a silver penciled Cochin? Which picture? Is that the fat chipmunks?

I heard an odd noise a couple time this morning. It was the Barred Cochin crowing! Well more like whistling sort of, lol. But he was trying, I saw him do it. Heard it 6 or 7 times. So I guess he is a rooster!

hi sorry I didn't see your reply. I saw the silver pencilled cochin in the 2nd, 4th, 6, 7, and 8 pics. Did the hen turn out to be a brown red OE?
