The absolute "dream team" for poop tray bedding is.........PDZ!!!

Pour that into your poop tray and cleanup will be a breeze, plus it helps make your coop smell really really good! It is/was originally made for horse stall refresher, but is harmless to chickens and it's great. Here's a short video on how this guy cleans his in less than 5 minutes!

Cool! But what would you suggest for there nesting boxes. Straw? They are still young yet and our not laying, but I want to be prepared when that time comes.

As for nesting boxes...gee, there's a gazillion different "styles" that people use. Me? I'm going to use the Rubbermaid tub method...talk about easy! If you want I'll post the little video on them...let me know. How old are your chickens? Close to laying age? Remember, if you go ahed and build them and they're not laying yet block them off...otherwise you run the risk of them sleeping at night in them and that's a real bad habit to break.

Thanks for the video. I just got done kicking them out of the nesting boxes and blocked them. They have been sleeping there for a week. I got one to roost the others are rebelling against that idea for now. I ll try again tomorrow. They are 12 weeks, so pretty young yet

Yours are 12 weeks, mine are 14 weeks, so yes we have a ways to go yet!! Best of luck whichever way you decide to go with your setups!!
